About Me

My name is Ola. I am from the Midwest and raised with Southern values (thanks Mama). I currently live in Tokyo, Japan. I love to travel, eat, shop, and enjoy my personal space among other things. In my daily life I am a wife, stay-at-home mom, grad student, and administrator. I try to keep busy as you can see.

Likes: dancing, reading, both sides of the camera, and searching for new blogs...

Dislikes: people who do not listen, being rushed, boring exercise, conversations that offer little substance...

Why did I start a blog?

I decided to start a lifestyle blog because since I travel a lot- I wanted to keep up with my family, have 'girl talk', meet new people, and use it as a creative outlet (and writing in a journal wasn't doing it for me). 
Ever feel like you have a lot to talk about but everybody may not want to hear ALL that you have to say? 
Welcome to my world! Thus the birth of 'The Beaut Blogger'. I want to share more than just beauty and style, I want to share my life ~ on my terms.


Why did I name my blog "The Beaut Blogger" ?

   Beaut (n. A particularly fine example of something. A beautiful person.) 

Beaut was the first nickname that I can remember and was given to me by my grandmother. She holds a special place in my heart and when she passed away, I found some of her notebooks and realized that I write a lot like she did. I've always loved writing but I never had the courage to share what I wrote. Once I decided to start my blog I knew I would give a vintage throwback to her.
